How to choose PDF sewing patterns for home sewing
Digital print-at-home patterns let you sew a garment tailored to your own measurements without waiting for anything to arrive in the post. Before you buy, check three things: the size range (the wider it is, the better for non-standard figures), the difficulty level, and the file format. A good pattern includes an A4 sheet for home printing and an A0 version for a copy shop or plotter, layered sizes you can toggle on and off, and clear step-by-step instructions.
The most common beginner mistake is skipping the test square. Before you cut into your fabric, print the calibration page at 100% scale and measure it with a ruler — a few millimetres of drift can ruin the whole fit.
