👗 Collection Let the party begin…
In October 2022, my second book, Couture for the Festive Season, was published by Éditions Marie-Claire.
A book dedicated to festive outfits, exploring fabrics, shapes, silhouettes and cuts: from the timeless little black dress to the deconstructed crop top, via the loose yet chic jumpsuit and the geometric clutch bag.
This book gave rise to a mini-collection entitled Let the party begin…, bringing together the standout and innovative pieces from the book.
The La Coquette dress is very much part of it.
❤️ The La Coquette dress, in a nutshell
Here is La Coquette: a little black dress full of character, designed for those who love to turn heads.
Its bustier-style yoke allows you to play with fabrics, whilst its small, slanted sleeves and its petticoat with large, flat pleats add structure and elegance. A feminine, confident and decidedly festive dress that lives up to its name.
💪 Difficulty level
Advanced.
La Coquette is aimed at relatively experienced seamstresses.
To make this dress, you will need:
- handling large amounts of fabric,
- working with lightweight fabrics,
- fitting a visible bias binding,
- fitting an concealed zip.
A challenging project, resulting in an elegant and spectacular finish.
