The Yasmine Women’s Trousers are loose-fitting and comfortable, designed to offer great freedom of movement whilst maintaining a flowing, feminine silhouette. Depending on the fabric chosen, they can easily be made in a more structured style or, conversely, a very supple and relaxed one.
The pattern can be sewn:
- using woven fabric, for a more structured look,
- or in stretch knit, for an even simpler construction and maximum comfort.
Its construction has been specifically designed to suit both these uses, with different assembly methods depending on the fabric, whilst remaining accessible to sewers.
With their loose fit, puffed legs and high waist with elasticated back, the Yasmine trousers combine comfort and style. They can be worn for everyday wear as well as for more formal or fairy-tale-inspired looks, depending on the options and finishes chosen.
✂️ Options and finishes
Several leg-hem finishes are available:
- Elasticated ankle (drawstring), for easy assembly
- Ankle cuff, requiring an opening on the leg side when the trousers are sewn using the warp and weft method
- Loose leg cuff, without tightening, adjusted to the desired length
A fully knitted version is also available, with a construction designed for quick and easy sewing.
The trousers can be customised with:
- pockets (optional),
- a lining (optional) to be inserted into the waistband, to accentuate a fairy-tale or costume effect.
The seam allowances are included in the pattern (1 cm for most seams, with specific allowances indicated for certain finishes).
📐 Sizes and adjustments
- Available sizes: from 32 to 56
- The reference measurement is the waist circumference
Recommendations:
- Choose the size closest to your waist measurement from the table
- If your measurement falls between two sizes, opt for the smaller one, as the elasticated back ensures comfort
- Then check that it fits your hip measurement:
- If your waist and hip measurements correspond to the same size, the trousers can be made from woven or knitted fabric
- If the hip measurement corresponds to a larger size, refer to the ‘stretched back waist’ line (finished garment measurements)
- For woven fabrics, a maximum difference of 2 cm is permitted
- If the difference is greater than this, it is recommended to opt for the knitted version
You can sew the pieces directly onto the pattern and adjust the length to suit your height (the pattern is designed for a reference height of 166 cm).
Adjusting the ankles
- Ankle strap: chosen according to your ankle circumference (regardless of trouser size)
- Elasticated drawstring: elastic lengths specified in the sewing supplies section
- Simple hem: loose leg opening, to be adjusted to the desired final length
